I open my eyes to stark featureless plains.
out beyond the horizon is tumult, yet far away from here.
Nay perhaps behind and in front and too the sides does tumult rise.
yet it is quiet with waves of grasses dancing in the wind.
it is quiet, and morning sun warms the heart.
yet here there is not much here.
out, out beyond the horizon is much.
beauties that please the eye, and delicacies which please the tongue.
in the midst of a carnival of pleasures does one long for the ever quiet,
of the open featureless plains.
Food and Company.
It is a pleasant thing, to be surprised by a visit from a friend.
spur of the moment a yearning for company.
they hit the scene, make haste!
make ready drinks and nice things to eat.
"tell us of what is happening" they say.
into the stories we go.
from all the happenings tragedy and comedy served in equal portion.
feast for thought.
yet the subtle bliss that accompanies company can make of the whole world.
as if it weren't there.
good company and well as good food works an amazing medicine.
for the health of one's spirit does good company and good food with company brings.
like a long sought for elixir that makes the ravages of age disappear. heartbreaks mended.
Now makes haste for the company arrives savor of the subtle bliss, perhaps the most important thing in the world.
